Daniel Paul Emilio DeCicco, 33, of Huntersville, NC and formerly of Oriskany, died Sunday, February 12, 2017, as a result of a motorcycle accident.
Daniel was born on July 3, 1983, in Utica, a son of Robin Hellinger. Daniel attended Oriskany High School where he graduated from in 2001.
Working as a car sales manager for Keffer Volkswagen of Huntersville, Daniel surrounded himself with his biggest passion. Dreaming of opening a garage one day, Daniel spent most of his free time working on bikes and cars. Any other free time was spent freeing his soul deep in the curves on his motorcycle, hitting 300 yard shots on the golf course and getting lost in the woods hunting and fishing. When he wasn't living in the moment he was busy freezing time and capturing the memories he and his ever-loving girlfriend spent making exploring the unknown. At the end of the day he loved to unwind and reconnect with his closest cousin, Matthew DeCicco playing video games.
He is survived by his loving girlfriend, Joana Costa of Huntersville; parents, Robin Hellinger of New Hartford and Karl Hellinger of Clinton; sister, Lacey DeCicco of Utica; twin brothers, Matthew and Michael Hellinger of Huntersville; nieces and nephews, Lucas, Nicholas, Isabella and Madison; grandmother, Jeannette DeMarco-DeCicco; aunts and uncles, Laurie Leaf, Anthony, Jr. and Michelle DeCicco, James and Tracy DeCicco and Wendy and Larry Futter; a special cousin, Matt DeCicco , and extended family, Kevin(Deceased) and Robin Inman, Bill and Connie Costa. He is also survived by his special friends, Jason Perry, Corey Inman, Brain Bailey, Will Laney, Damian Doroz Chance Wilbanks and his furry four-legged daughter, Rileigh Bear. He was predeceased by his great grandparents, Emilio and Rose DeMarco and grandfather, Anthony DeCicco, Sr. (Papo),
The funeral will be held on Saturday at 9:30 in St. John the Evangelist Church, New Hartford where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery on Oneida Street in Utica. Calling hours will be on Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford.
