Jane E. (Cookie) Northrop Keller, 89, of Schuyler Commons and formerly of Waterville and New Hartford, died May 13, 2017 at Waterville Residential Care Center.
She was born July 16, 1927 in Waterville daughter of the late Harry Northrop, Sr. and Loretta Rehm Northrop and graduated from Waterville Central School in 1945. Jane married Clarence Keller on October 19, 1946 at St. Bernard's Church in Waterville. Clarence died December 24, 2006.
Jane worked at the Rome Air Base during World War II and later worked at Horrocks-Ibbitson Co. She was also an active volunteer at St. Luke's-Memorial Hospital for many years.
She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Marcy.
Jane enjoyed crocheting and knitting and especially enjoyed camping at Cedar Point on the St. Lawrence River.
She is survived by her sister, Emily (Dino) Perez of Batavia, NY; her children William J. (Cynthia) Keller of Concord, NC, Mary (Norman) Brenenstuhl of Kannapolis, NC, Bonnie (George) Hazard, West Winfield, and Robert Keller of Winter Haven, FL; her grandchildren, Jared Keller, Jessica (Amos DeGoat) Keller, Trevor Keller, Karen (Michael) Smith, Michael Brenenstuhl, Andra (Brent) Wilcox, Diane (Brandon) Schoonover, Adam (Jamie) Keller, Kaitlyn (Max) Klein and Adam and Kaitlyn's mother, Mary Deutschman; 11 and ½ great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Harry and Lyle and her sister Barbara Barnes.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Waterville Residential Center (Harding Nursing Home) and to the staff of Hospice for all of the care given to Jane.
The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 AM at the Dimbleby, Friedel, Williams & Edmunds Funeral Home, 13 Oxford Rd., New Hartford. Interment will be in East Hill Cemetery, New Hartford. Calling hours are on Thursday from 5-8 PM.
